Stroma Built Environment has appointed Steve Horrocks as our new Managing Director following our successful brand launch in February 2019.
The launch brought together three prominent brands: BBS Environmental, HRS Services and Stroma Tech into one of the largest providers of environmental sustainability services to the construction industry.
Steve will also lead Stroma Specialist Access, our inspection & maintenance division which formed from a specialist team within HRS Services.
Steve Horrocks has played a key role in the growth and development of the Stroma Group since its formation in 2002. He initially served as an Air Test Engineer for Stroma Tech as it grew into one of the largest residential and commercial air permeability specialists across the UK. Progressing through the business, Steve then became Technical Director for Stroma Certification once the Group diversified into the provision of approved certification for energy assessors and installers. Following further promotion to the position of Managing Director for Stroma Certification, Steve now moves to Stroma Built Environment.
Steve will lead a highly skilled specialist team at Stroma Built Environment. The new division offers services throughout the construction lifecycle and in conjunction with the RIBA Plan of Work stages. This includes Environmental Monitoring, Performance Testing, Energy Consultancy and Health & Safety services. Stroma Built Environment offers clients including architects, designers, main contractors and building owners the opportunity to work with a specialist consultancy partner throughout the lifecycle of their asset. By engaging Stroma as a sole supplier, clients can reduce procurement costs and gain cost and deliver efficiencies across the build and beyond.
Steve Horrocks, commented: "Stroma Built Environment represents a unique service delivery partner to our colleagues throughout the construction industry. Our broad scope of services begins at pre-planning and design stage and carries through once a building enters its operational lifecycle. We aim to deliver a full suite of consultancy, testing and energy management services to our clients and look forward to working with them as Stroma Built Environment."
The launch of Stroma Built Environment caps an impressive 12 to 18 months for the Stroma Group following the positive reception for our new Building Control division in October 2018.
