We are delighted to confirm Steve Horrocks as the new Managing Director of our Stroma Certification division. Steve replaces Matt Ferguson who will now focus on his role as Chief Executive Officer of the Stroma Group.
Steve joined Stroma in 2007, initially as a Site Engineer for our Stroma Tech division. After working as a Senior Non-Domestic Energy Assessor for a year, Steve moved to spearhead the development of non-domestic certification and training as Technical Manager of Stroma Certification.
He was promoted to the role of Technical Director in 2011 and helped to lead the company through a hugely successful period of growth with responsibility for all EPBD teams, internal systems, processes and technical support functions. Steve was also the lead account manager for key accounts including British Gas and E.ON. More recently, Steve has led the establishment of Stroma Software and the company's expansion into mobile data capture software provision for our core market, in addition to new industries.
2017 has already heralded great success for Stroma. With the undoubted economic pressures in the energy efficiency market, Stroma Certification has been diversifying our service catalogue to ensure members can continue to thrive within the industry. This has included the launch of a new BIM Certification scheme and BIM Foundations training course.
This summer will also see the launch of a new version of our market leading RSAP+ Software for RdSAP lodgements. For the first time RSAP+ is available cross platform meaning that users can deploy the software on their existing desktop, mobile or tablet device. It allows members to collect domestic property data and complete work more flexibly and conveniently than ever before.
Matt Ferguson has undertaken a joint role as Managing Director of Stroma Certification and CEO of the Stroma Group since its inception. He remains actively involved with the Certification division but will now concentrate on overseeing operations across the Stroma Group. The company has grown organically and through acquisition in the past number of year, now providing services throughout the construction lifecycle across the RIBA Plan of Work stages. Matt will now support Steve and the other divisional directors to achieve further growth and strategic objectives.
Matt said: "Steve has been a fantastic servant to the Stroma group, both Stroma Tech in his early years, and more recently with Stroma Certification. It gives me immense pleasure to hand the reigns over to such a talented and experienced Director. Stroma Certification is in safe hands and he will be supported by a fantastic team."
Steve added: "I'm delighted to take on the responsibility of Managing Director for Stroma Certification. We have been at the forefront of certification and training provision to the construction and energy industries for almost a decade. There are undoubted challenges for our members in the wider industry and Stroma remains committed to developing services and benefits which will allow our customers to retain successful businesses."
