Stroma Specialist Access is the new name for HRS Services Ltd inspection and maintenance services as the Stroma Group today announces its exciting new brand launch. In 2017, HRS Services was acquired by the Stroma Group. With an impressive 30-year track record of environmental sustainability service delivery into the construction industry, the HRS team perfectly complemented Stroma’s existing building compliance services. HRS also included a separate, specialist division for inspection and maintenance (I&M) services to support clients with the safe inspection, maintenance and continued operation of UK infrastructure and built assets. Stroma Specialist Access will continue the story of success written by HRS and expand on their range of difficult access services.
The strong legacy of HRS Services means Stroma Specialist Access inherits a reputation as one of the foremost providers of expert rope access, examination and inspection services for rail and highways networks, as well as buildings, masts and towers. Benefitting from more than 30 years’ experience, the highly qualified team at Stroma Specialist Access have carried out thousands of structural inspections, examinations and maintenance work across the UK, including live and disused railways structures, high-rise and listed buildings, confined space work, vegetation removal, tree felling and many other bespoke projects.
The Stroma Specialist Access team has an extensive track record working on some of the UK’s most prestigious road and rail projects, including M25 Connect Services, HS1 for Network Rail and Eurotunnel (Channel Tunnel Rail Link). They’ve also delivered I&M services for iconic buildings such as The Royal Albert Hall and NTL Emley Moor Transmission Tower.
The diverse and specialist services deployed by Stroma Specialist Access are carried out by a fully qualified and accredited inspection and maintenance team, including an IRATA qualified rope access team. They provide innovative solutions for overcoming the challenges of completing difficult access work, working at height and in confined spaces. The methods used include rope access, drone surveys, MEWPs, scaffold towers, suspended cradles, underbridge cradles, cherry pickers and much more.
During the past 16 months, a detailed integration programme has taken place to create the new Stroma Specialist Access brand. The building and environmental sustainability side of the HRS also continues as part of the Stroma Group’s new Stroma Built Environment (formed in conjunction with Stroma Tech and BBS Environmental).
Formed in 2002, the Stroma Group provides services throughout the RIBA Plan of Work stages; from the initial design stages, right through to the construction, completion and operation of built assets. In addition to inspection and maintenance services, the Group provides expertise in the fields of pre-construction, building control, building performance testing, building compliance, post construction, certification & training, Building Information Modelling (BIM) and mobile software. By engaging with Stroma, clients can avoid the extensive procurement and management costs associated with hiring multiple subcontractors, achieving all services from a single supplier through the project lifecycle.
Steve Horrocks, Stroma Specialist Access Managing Director, said, “I’m delighted to re-introduce our inspection & maintenance division to the market as Stroma Specialist Access. Clients can be assured of the same professional, specialist service delivery they have enjoyed whilst working with HRS. We now look to build on this reputation for quality, client focussed difficult access work across UK infrastructure and buildings.”
