Keeping young people safe in an ever-changing world is a continual challenge, and the key to this is making the children themselves aware of the dangers around them. The safe4kids campaign aims to do just that, and Stroma has just renewed our patronage of this worthwhile scheme.
With financial support from patrons such as Stroma, safe4kids distributes learning packs to schools, which are designed to cover health and safety issues in a fun and engaging way. The pack includes an interactive game posing questions on what children would do in a range of potentially dangerous situations: the areas covered include using the internet and mobile phones, peer pressure, and making healthy lifestyle choices. The game is accompanied by brochures aimed at parents and teachers.
Patrons can choose which schools to support and Stroma has opted to focus their efforts in the West Yorkshire area, where their head office is based.
Nici Pickering, Stroma’s Marketing Manager and CSR Champion, said “Stroma is always looking for ways to engage with our local community, and a strong community starts with happy, safe and healthy children. We think these packs are a great resource for local schools and are very happy to continue to support safe4kids.”
