Stroma Certification to close Installer Certification business

Notice has been given to UKAS in line with scheme operating requirements

Stroma has today announced that we have given formal notice to UKAS of our intention to close the Installer Certification part of the business. The closure affects our GDI, MCS, GDAO and CPS schemes. An agreement has been reached with the Napit Group to transfer all existing memberships across to Napit Registration Ltd. Napit will continue to operate the installer business under the new brand name of Stroma Installer Certification Ltd. The sale is effective from August 2019.

Stroma Group

"Martin Holt, CEO of the Stroma Group, said: “Since 2015, the Stroma Group has seen significant growth resulting from a number of strategic acquisitions. Following the subsequent integration and rebranding of these businesses as Stroma Building Control and Stroma Built Environment, the Group now delivers a broad and growing range of environmental sustainability and compliance services to the UK construction industry. The Board has concluded that our resources can be most effectively utilised towards delivering on this strategy and we have therefore reached a decision to cease all Installer Certification activities."

Energy Assessor Certification and Training to continue

The Stroma Group has held a license to operate a wide range of certification schemes through its Stroma Certification business since 2007. The GDI, MCS and CPS schemes were relaunched in 2014 and grew to welcome thousands of members across all major trades. Our Energy Assessor Certification schemes, which include market-leading offerings for Domestic Energy Assessment, Non-Domestic Energy Assessment and On Construction Domestic Energy Assessment will continue under Stroma Certification after a hugely successful 2018/19.

Martin Holt concluded: "Stroma will be recognised as a market leader in the provision of compliance and sustainability services to the built environment. We look forward to working with our clients, members and partners throughout the remainder of 2019 and beyond to achieve safe, compliant and energy efficient buildings."
