News: Stroma Certification named Installer Certification Body of the Year

Monday 22nd June 2015

Stroma Certification triumphed at the Green Deal & ECO Awards 2015 as we were named Installer Certification Body of the Year. The award acknowledges Stroma Certification’s commitment to offering first-class, affordable and beneficial certification for installers throughout the energy efficiency industry.

Stroma Certification was built on our reputation as a certification body for energy assessors. We are renowned for our assessor certification schemes in which we are the market leader. This expertise was then applied to the installer certification market and for the past five years, the company has been building its Green Deal Installer (GDI), Microgeneration Certification Schemes (MCS) and Competent Person Schemes (CPS) membership through a commitment to fair pricing backed by excellent benefits.

With this year’s win of Installer Certification Body of the Year, Stroma Certification has now been recognised as a reckoning force within the installer industry. This commitment to pricing and benefits is encapsulated in Stroma Certification’s Competent Person Scheme for Part P. By pricing annual membership at £288 (including VAT), Stroma has offered electricians an affordable route to market without compromising on the quality of our scheme. In fact, the membership benefits included with Stroma’s Part P CPS have noticeably increased over the recent months. Recent additions include free Third Party Certification, access to discounted products via the Stroma Store and exclusive business insurance. There are also a number of complimentary features such as our E-Cert electrical certificate software, a members area website and technical support team. All of this has enabled member electricians to broaden the scope of services which they can provide to customers and to work more efficiently.

Scheme development has been crucial in helping installers to maximise the benefits offered by Government incentives such as the Green Deal and Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). The addition of biomass as a new MCS measure means that Stroma can now certify all eligible RHI measures. Our GDI scheme also has two new measures added in the past year which reinforces a commitment to the Green Deal that began at the scheme’s pilot phase. These developments are sought to help installers find new methods to enable efficient, cost-saving installations for our customers. Stroma Certification is a valuable and beneficial choice for installers, with a broader range of trade opportunities to choose from and the potential to provide a greater scope of services.

Going hand in hand with scheme development is industry awareness. Stroma Certification has continued to promote installer schemes, regulatory developments and incentives to our members and potential clients through our company partnerships, seminars and event exhibitions. This allows Stroma to meet installers face-to-face to listen to their concerns and offer valuable advice on compliant and efficient installation practices.

The national Green Deal and ECO awards ceremony was a successful night for the business as Stroma Certification also picked up the Data & Software Company of the year award. We also came second in the Assessor Certification Body of the year and Training Organisation of the year categories. With membership numbers growing across the breadth of our assessor and installer certification schemes, the future is bright for Stroma Certification and its members.

Matthew Ferguson, Managing Director & CEO said, ‘It is an honour to be recognised for our efforts to provide first-class certification schemes to installers at an event which houses so many notable achievements by other companies and industry professionals working to comply with Green Deal initiatives and Energy Companies Obligation (ECO). We pride ourselves on our affordable schemes which offer a broad range of benefits without hidden costs, and hope to continue our previous successes in future developments.’
