FSAP 2012 approved for SAP assessments in England

Time Capsule: 1 April 2014

The fourth in our time capsule series, to celebrate our 15th anniversary, revisits the release of our FSAP 2012 software. In April 2014, Stroma received approval to release FSAP 2012 in order to comply with the changes made to Part L of the Building Regulations.

The amendments to Part L1a 2013 came into effect on 6th April 2014, requiring any building in England undergoing Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) assessments to use FSAP 2012 to demonstrate compliance. The introduction of FSAP 2012 also had implications for Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and the Code for Sustainable Homes (CSH) to ensure assessments were carried out against the updated legislation.

FSAP 2012

Maintaining compliance with industry standards

We’re committed to providing our members with the very best software solutions to ensure our members are working compliantly when carrying out SAP assessments. Stroma Certification released FSAP 2012 to enable members to progress from the previous version of Part L1a released in 2010, which required the use of FSAP 2009.

FSAP 2012 was developed to assist the conversion to the new Part L1a standards and ensured no disruption to the service quality. As part of the release of FSAP 2012, a simple export feature was included in the software to enable FSAP 2009 files to be easily converted to the FSAP 2012 format. It has provided a more sophisticated methodology, without amending the simple interface of the software, enabling assessors to ensure greater accuracy when generating results whilst remaining compliant with the Building Regulations.

FSAP 2012 today

Since its release 3 years ago, FSAP 2012 has become the industry’s most advanced tool for SAP assessments and EPCs. We ensure we monitor the industry’s developments to develop our extensive software packages and ensure our members remain compliant with all legislative requirements to deliver high quality standards throughout all aspects of their work.

In addition to Part L1a in England, FSAP is also used in line with the requirements of Scottish Section 6 and Wales Part L1a. Domestic on Construction Energy Assessors who are certified through our DOCEA Certification scheme receive a free download of our FSAP 2012 software to import and export projects, utilise common Housing Association formats and view interactive results. We are continually updating our FSAP Software in conjunction with our SAP Scheme Managers and qualified SAP assessors. More information about FSAP 2012 Software is available on our sister website, Stroma Software.

Stroma is delighted to be celebrating our 15th anniversary in 2017 and would like to thank our clients, members, partners and friends for your ongoing support.
