Stroma Certification celebrated victory at the national Green Deal & ECO Awards 2015 after being named Data & Software Company of the Year.
The award is the culmination of a stellar 12 months for Stroma Certification’s software services as we confirmed our status as the foremost provider of mobile application and desktop software for energy assessors, installers, businesses and providers throughout the industry. Stroma’s commitment to high value and low cost software has been recognised through the award which vindicates a strategy of combining expert industry insight with software development aptitude.
Software output from the business during 2014 and into 2015 has been phenomenal, including a combination of version updates and new releases. We were quick to react to changes in legislation and delivered upgrades of our Tracker Mobile and ECO software for customers to meet RdSAP 9.92 and ECO 2 respectively. Tracker, Stroma Certification’s workflow management software, relaunched with an expanded data capture and storage solution that was able to integrate and pull together other Stroma applications for an all-inclusive customer journey. The new software releases included E-Cert, an app designed specifically for electricians and Capture IT, the first Stroma Certification software to be available on Android devices.
Key to Stroma Certification’s approach to software development is tapping into the existing certification and energy industry experience which the company was founded on. They work closely with assessors and installers which provides an insight about how office workers and field based staff collaborate to provide energy efficiency services to end customers. Stroma is able to use this knowledge to inform the development process and has delivered a range of software which helps to integrate previously disparate business processes for our members and clients.
One of the specific projects considered by the judging panel was the upgrading of Stroma Certification’s Tracker Mobile energy assessment software suite. After it received BRE approval for compliance in line with RdSAP 9.92, the software went live on 1st December 2014 without any technical problems. As one of the flagship pieces of Stroma Certification software, it is now being used by more than 50% of the energy assessor marketplace for lodgements. Following the delivery of Tracker Mobile, Stroma Certification staff travelled the UK to speak face-to-face with more than 1,500 members at a number of free CPD sessions. These offered live demonstrations of the Tracker Mobile software and communicated the necessary changes members needed to know concerning RdSAP 9.92.
Stroma Certification prides itself on an ability to innovate to the benefit of the industry. The private finance module, a component element of Tracker Mobile and Tracker, is a key differentiator in comparison to other market competitors. This module facilitates lending for end customers by allowing funding applications to be processed on mobile devices. Stroma has partnered with the Green Deal Finance Company (GDFC) and other independent lenders to enable finance to be accessed more easily for home improvements without neglecting any of the necessary eligibility and compliance checks.
The software Stroma produces is not only directly used by its assessor and installer members. Our Energy Estimator consumer-based website tool continues to be popular throughout the Green Deal and ECO industry. The tool allows a member of the public to perform a self-assessment of their home’s energy efficiency and obtain advice on potential improvement measures. In total, 136,064 prequalification reports have been generated through the web tool, both on Stroma Certification’s website and around 253 member company websites.
The advantage of Stroma Certification’s software is the way that our industry knowledge informs all development work. As a prominent certification body they are constantly in communication with members, as well as Government and regulatory bodies which enables them to efficiently react to changing requirements and deliver software which maximises benefit to the industry. In addition, Stroma Certification has significantly upgraded its internal systems to ensure our technical support and customer service systems maintain the highest standards. This investment has helped to raise call volumes and the speed at which Stroma Certification staff can help customers.
