It is with huge congratulations that we can announce a promotion for current Director of Energy Certification, Andrew Parkin, who becomes Managing Director of our Certification division. Andy takes over from our CEO, Martin Holt, who will now focus on his Group role.
Andy is the latest example of Stroma’s longstanding commitment to internal development and progression. He joins fellow Managing Directors – Steve Horrocks (Stroma Built Environment) and Ian O’Connor (Stroma Building Control) – who also received an internal promotion to their current roles.
This is echoed within the Certification team itself. Andy is well supported by a talented and diverse team who have developed their careers at Stroma. Sam Cantle (now Technical Manager), Grant Susse (DEA Scheme Manager), Ian Ferguson (OCDEA Scheme Manager), John Robinson (NDEA Scheme Manager) and Steve Marriott (Retrofit Scheme Manager) secured promotion from the technical team to lead their respective departments.
Andy and the Certification team have worked tirelessly to support our members through a difficult period due to the pandemic and the division continues to perform strongly.
There are further changes ahead and this will offer more opportunities to the energy assessment sector. The Energy Performance Certificate is likely to form an important part of the ‘golden thread’ weaving, safety and sustainability into the approach to net-zero carbon within the UK’s built environment.
“I’m really pleased to see Andy progress into the role; it is a well-earned and deserved promotion and highlights Stroma Group's commitment to internal progression and investment in our people. It’s a pleasure to work with Andy and I’m sure our staff and clients will join me in congratulating him on his promotion.” Martin Holt, CEO
“I am delighted and honoured to be given the opportunity to lead the Certification division during such an exciting period of change, as we move towards a Net Zero economy. Stroma Certification will be at the forefront of change in our industry and our people will be the driving force behind this. I have seen the team grow, both in terms of size and capability over the last few years and I am really excited for the future of the division and our industry as a whole.” Andrew Parkin, Managing Director
