With an outline of the dangers of electricity and how to use it safely, this course covers electrical safety legislations and terminology, basic electrical units and principles, simple electrical circuits, electrical supplies, electrical circuit protection methods, hazards and safe working practices, common electrical problems, energy demands and power consumption. Certification is gained after successfully completing a multiple-choice exam.

Erudite will provide you with hints, tips and guidance on how to understand the IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671:2008 (amended 2011) book. Prior knowledge of electrical principles is required for this course to be able to interpret regulations and put them into practice. A multiple-choice exam will determine certification.

The government is backing electric vehicle use in this country through grants and other incentives. Over 10,000 EV charging points are required this year and you may wish to install some of these. You will need to know how to install these in domestic, public and private business locations

This course is aimed at those new to test meters and those who require a refresher course on how to carry out the tests needed to prove an installation is safe. This course is for the initial verification of new single-phase installations and will not make you competent to carry out periodic inspections of existing installations. To be certified, you will have to carry out an online multiple-choice exam and a practical assessment.

PAT Testing ensures that electrical appliances are safe and fit for their intended purpose. You will learn how to carry out PAT Testing and gain an understanding of the legislature surrounding it. Areas that will be covered are user checks, visual inspections, combined inspection and testing of appliances and filling out relevant documentation. You will be assessed by a multiple-choice exam and 3 practical assessments.

2391 replaces the previous 2394 and 2395 Inspection and Testing qualification. You can choose to study the 2391-50 Level 3 Award in Initial Verification, 2391-51 Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection, or both in 2391-52 Level 3 Award in Inspection and Testing.
2391-50 is aimed at those working in electrical contracting but are new to inspection or testing or require their knowledge to be updated. 2391-51 is aimed at those wishing to undertake periodic electrical inspection and testing work on existing installations. 2391-52 will cover both initial verification and periodic inspection and test disciplines.

This course is for those wanting to take their knowledge further and gain a complete understanding and different perspective of other installations. Course requirements are 17th Edition Wiring Regulations and 2391/2395 Inspection and Testing. Assessments are a written exam and work portfolio in which you need to complete the electrical design for a full installation.

This course is for anyone working or intending to work within the entertainment industry, for which knowledge of the requirements of BS7909 is, in most cases, an essential requirement request by companies and event organisers.
Covering electrical installations at festivals, concerts, events, TV studios, stage sets, theatre and other public spaces, the Temporary Power Systems (BS7909) Course will provide an excellent extra revenue stream to your current electrical skill-set.

TThe NVQ follows the Level 2 and Level 3 Diplomas in Electrical Installation in which you learn the technical knowledge and practical ability required to be an electrician.
After you have completed the L2 and L3 Diplomas (often called the “tech. cert.” or 2365), either at Erudite or elsewhere, you must show your ability in the work place. This is what the NVQ portfolio is intended to demonstrate.
Once you have completed your NVQ, your final hurdle will be booking your 2 day AM2 trade test at a NET centre through the Joint Industry Board (JIB), allowing JIB to recognise you as fully qualified and satisfying the requirements for a JIB gold card.
