Stroma Certification has moved to bolster its Technical Support Team by delivering both Retrofit Coordinator and Retrofit Assessor training to colleagues that work on the PAS 2035 Standard Framework. This represents a significant investment in our wider Retrofit team as interest and deployment of the Retrofit process continues to move apace.
Colleagues trained as Retrofit Coordinators include Neil Robinson, Technical Advisor, Steve Marriott, Scheme Manager, CSH, BIM and James Brooks Auditor/ Advisor.
“I attended the Traditional Building Energy Efficiency and Retrofit Course, offered by Prof. John Edwards. From a personal perspective this course was invaluable. It expanded on knowledge I already had while also providing a new insight into the field. The course explained how simply following current standard practises and using modern materials without thought or indeed understanding of how this may have a detrimental impact on the property can cause significant damage to our older and traditional housing stock, and indeed personal health and comfort.
My personal view is that all Retrofit Coordinators should sit this course, but equally anyone dealing in the Retrofit of a property, such as designers and assessors should consider undertaking this, it will be well worth their time to learn more about this very important aspect of Retrofit.” – Steve Marriott
Stroma Certification staff who have undertaken the Retrofit Assessor training include Joe Mountain, SAP Technical Advisor, Lauren McCreadie, Technical Advisor, Lewis Riley, Technical Advisor, James Brooks and Neil Robinson.
“The course was delivered at a steady pace with the course trainer ensuring everyone was involved and engaged and ok with the material before moving on. The software was simple to use and explained thoroughly and provided with video guides so could easily be referenced back to”. – Joe Mountain
“Having recently undertaken the Retrofit Assessor, Retrofit Coordinator and Traditional Buildings courses, I feel that my knowledge of Retrofit has improved greatly. This has helped me gain an in depth understanding of all aspects of Retrofit. This will prove essential for fulfilling my role as an auditor, helping ensure that I am able to give clear, concise and technically accurate feedback in order to maximise progress in our members capabilities”. – James Brooks
It is expected that, as the UK government’s plans for carbon neutrality develop and move towards the 2050 deadline, Retrofit will become increasingly more important in helping to reduce the carbon footprint of the UK’s current housing stock. Through this training investment, Stroma Certification will continue to deliver excellent service to its members and clients who are involved in Whole House Retrofit.
