First cohort of Retrofit Assessors Certified with Stroma Certification

Stroma Certification is delighted to announce that the first cohort of Retrofit Assessors, trained by Stroma Certification on the new PAS 2035 standard have now become fully certified, enabling them to carry out retrofit assessment work in the built environment.

Stroma Certification spoke to two of the first Retrofit Assessors who successfully completed their training and subsequently became certified with the Stroma scheme.

Mike Foat from Mantis Energy

Our first newly certified and trained Retrofit Assessor is Mike from Mantis Energy Ltd.

Mike is a chartered engineer, SAP assessor, DEA and accredited project manager with many years’ experience in mechanical and electrical design, installation and commissioning in a variety of construction sectors. Mike has a passion for energy efficiency and renewable energy and founded the sustainable design consultancy Mantis Energy Ltd who specialise in low carbon buildings, power generation, heating and hot water systems.

“We are currently working on a number of existing renovations from small terraced houses to very large high-end properties. We take older inefficient heritage properties and transform them into highly sustainable future proofed homes.”

Taylor Boutin from EPC Solutions Northeast

Our second newly certified and trained retrofit assessor is Taylor from EPC Solutions Northeast.

Taylor has been in the energy efficiency industry for over 10 years. He is a DEA, OCDEA and NDEA, and located in the North East running a busy business, offering MEES consulting and providing EPCs for various clients.

“I do a lot of work for the Retrofit companies in the area, providing them with EPCs, carbon scores and SAP calculations. I am looking to expand this part of the business to be able to provide quality Retrofit Assessments too. If anyone is looking to train in PAS 2035, I highly recommend Stroma.
