ESOS is a mandatory energy assessment scheme for all UK organisations who meet a given criteria, namely:
Organisations who meet these criteria must undergo an ESOS audit every 4 years to assess their energy consumption. There is a requirement for organisations to notify the Environment Agency that they are compliant with the ESOS regulations within a given compliance period. The first compliance period was defined as December 2015.
ESOS audits can only be undertaken by a qualified ESOS Lead Energy Assessor. ESOS compliance is mandatory for UK businesses who meet set staffing and turnover requirements. By adding your name to our ESOS Lead Energy Assessor Register you too can provide a combination of scoping, assessment and advisory services to a diverse range of organisations. As an ESOS assessor you can deliver, oversee and approve ESOS energy audits.
