What is acoustic testing?
Acoustic testing and noise assessments typically involve predicting whether a proposed development or project will result in adverse impacts on the public and wildlife because of noise or vibrations. Most assessments require a qualified acoustic consultant to visit your site and measure existing background noise levels.
How long does a noise assessment take?
While many noise assessments take 1-2 hours, other surveys can take anywhere between a few days to a few months to complete depending on the requirements and complexity of the project.
Who needs acoustic consultant services?
The Local Authority may request a noise impact assessment for any development which has the potential to create or increase the existing level of noise. Common developments which normally require noise assessments include bars and nightclubs, delivery and unloading for commercial properties, gyms, sports pitches, nurseries, large-scale construction projects, and more.
How often should a noise assessment be done?
