What is Remedial Air Sealing?

Remedial Air Sealing allows a building to be air sealed and fire stopped if there is a risk of air leakage or in the event of a fire risk. Stroma Built Environment can work with your project team to provide a number of services from air testing design reviews, site visits, permanent air sealing and fire stopping works through to air tightness testing.

Remedial Air Sealing services – Why choose Stroma Built Environment?

The main difference in permanent air sealing services delivered by Stroma is that we use FIRAS and IRATA trained rope access sealers. This allows our team to reach difficult access areas with ease and in a fast, safe and cost-effective manner. Remedial Sealing may be required if a building has failed its air test.

Our team of air sealing specialists can help to identify:

Gaps between walls, ceilings or floors)

Inadequate sealing between doors or architraves

Other areas of air leakage via smoke testing methods

Since the introduction of Part L in 2001, Stroma’s air sealing teams have been involved in the air sealing of new buildings. Our extensive experience formed in the retail market allowed Stroma to expand our air sealing and fire stopping services for contractors within other sectors such as schools and hospitals.

What is Fire Stopping?

Fire Stopping services are typically taken in the latter stages of a project. It helps to seal gaps in the building fabric in order to prevent the spread of fire. It plays a vital part in ensuring a project meets the requirements of the Building Regulations.
