Stroma Building Control is a Construction Industry Council (CICAIR) Approved Inspector offering building control services as an alternative to Local Authority Building Control (LABC). The management team would like to reassure our clients and members that Stroma Group remains open for business in the face of the Coronavirus outbreak. Our site teams in Building Control, Built Environment and Specialist Access are continuing to attend sites, whilst carefully following Government and NHS health & safety advice. Operational and technical support teams are set-up to work from home wherever possible for the duration of the crisis.

Stroma have conducted a risk assessment in the event of a Coronavirus outbreak affecting the business. This is being reviewed regularly in response to official advice.
There has recently been an increased interest in the insurance provision for many construction-related professions, including Approved Inspectors. Indeed some practices have either received greatly reduced cover or, in some instances, no cover at all. We are aware of a small number of Approved Inspectors who were unable to gain renewal terms as their previous insurer had exited the market and so have been unable to continue trading. We would like to reassure all clients that due to our positive claims history and our risk-management processes we continue to maintain a PI policy with comprehensive cover and no exclusions. This was last renewed in April 2020 via our broker Griffiths & Armour and we don’t foresee any issues with future renewals.
