SAP Assessments for Part L1A Compliance
SAP Assessments Part L1A – New Dwellings
New residential buildings must comply with Part L1A of the Building Regulations, which stipulates CO2 emissions calculations based on the Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) 2009.
Part L1A 2010 states that compliance SAP assessments must be submitted to Building Control prior to the start of any works on site, and in addition that all SAP assessments must be undertaken by accredited Energy Assessors.
Stroma Technology's team of accredited Energy Assessors is well-equipped to deliver this service, having carried out thousands of SAP calculations for major housebuilders and contractors throughout the UK and Ireland.
In addition, we can offer advice on the various compliance options and have assisted in formulating the compliance strategy for challenging developments such as high-rise buildings and high sustainability projects.
SAP Assessments Part L1B – Existing Dwellings
Stroma Technology can also carry out the required energy calculations to demonstrate compliance with Part L1B, which applies to existing residential buildings.
SAP Calculations with Stroma FSAP 2009
We carry out SAP calculations using FSAP 2009, Stroma’s CLG-approved software package, developed in-house and widely used across the industry. After developing and using this software Stroma has embraced the changes introduced in October 2010, when SAP 2009 came into effect. FSAP 2009’s adjustable calculation tools enable us to work to both the SAP 2005 and SAP 2009 standards, ensuring that we are always ahead of the game and can provide the most effective advice to aid in achieving compliance in all situations.
With other complementary services, such as Code for Sustainable Homes Assessment, Air Tightness design advice, BREEAM, SBEM/DSM, and Renewable Energy feasibility reports, Stroma Technology can provide a truly integrated assessment service to assist any type of project.
