The role of a Green Deal Advisor (GDA) will be to carry out a Green Deal qualifying assessment, produce a Green Deal Advice Report (GDAR) and explain the findings and recommendations. The GDAR will be a pre-requisite for any person who wishes to obtain Green Deal Finance in order to pay for the installation of energy-efficiency measures at their property.
Stroma Certification provides software tools, training and certification schemes to assist the industry in embracing the Green Deal path for Green Deal Advisors.
As a pre-requisite for the GDA qualification, candidates must be a certified Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA). Stroma Certification operates training courses and certification schemes for DEAs; for advice about combined DEA and GDA qualification routes, please contact us.FAQs on The Green Deal

Assessment for the GDA qualification is on the basis of a Witnessed Assessment and portfolio submission.
During the Witnessed Assessment, candidates are observed conducting the Green Deal assessment and providing advice to a householder, and assessed to ensure that delivery of advice and explanation is to the required standard. Stroma Certification personnel shall carry out the witnessed assessment, within the allocated maximum time of two hours per Green Deal assessment. The assessment is not usually carried out consecutively with the training; it can be arranged to suit client needs.
Following the training , a portfolio of evidence must be submitted to Stroma Certification for assessment. This portfolio must include evidence to meet all of the relevant awarding body’s requirements. Candidates will achieve qualification once the portfolio passes assessment and is verified.
Pre and post course learning is provided for candidates, along with a members' area (www.stromamembers.net). A login is required, and gives access to reading material, videos, and useful links, alongside required technical/legislative documentation.
Additionally, members gain access to instant technical support, with a telephone and email helpdesk staffed by qualified advisors available during business hours.
