Our contracting business, Stroma Contracting, provide all forms of passive fire protection, suspended ceilings, acoustic barriers and air sealing on all types and sizes of buildings and have more recently expanded into larger scale dry lining and partitioning works. This is a profitable company consistently growing month on month expanding into new areas and is seeking to strengthen its commercial and operational teams by recruiting the following positions:

  1. An Estimator/Senior Estimator ideally with fire protection, dry lining and partitioning experience (or fit-out). The successful candidate will be required co-ordinate all enquiries, from receipt to submission and if successful through to handover to the operations team. Applicants will be required to take-off from steelwork drawings or from site visits, have an in-depth knowledge of products and applications. Further duties include client liaison, submission and agreement of interim and final accounts, maintaining supplier and sub-contractor databases, resolution of invoice queries, etc.

  2. An experienced and enthusiastic Quantity Surveyor to work on a number of projects primarily in the north of England. Key qualifications and experience required for this position include:
    1. A minimum HND in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
    2. A proven track record in commercial contracting.
    3. Ideally experienced in fire protection and dry wall systems.
    4. A sound knowledge of contract law.
    5. A sound understanding of financial and commercial risk analysis.
    6. Negotiating, IT and report writing.

  3. An experienced Contracts Manager/Project Supervisor with fire protection, dry lining and partitioning experience and a proven track record of managing several projects concurrently. Duties will include co-ordinating procurement and delivery of plant and materials to sites, ensuring all H&S records, Method Statements and other relevant documentation is completed, overseeing operative productivity and measurement for payment, recording  works completed, ensuring product and application compliance, client sign-off and general liaison, assisting with resolution of invoice queries, etc.

  4. Operatives ideally experienced in dry wall products and sysytems, all forms of Passive Fire Protection and ideally Air Sealing. Competitive rates will be paid depending on experience and productivity.

  5. An enthusiastic technical/operational Administrator capable of co-ordinating activities between office and ongoing sites. Duties will include co-ordinating procurement and delivery of plant and materials to sites, ensuring all H&S records, Method Statements and other relevant documentation are issued, maintaining supplier and sub-contractor databases, resolution of invoice queries, etc.


All applicants should have strong communication skills (written and verbal), and where applicable have a broad knowledge of all fire protection, dry wall products and applications and ideally air sealing. Applicants must be PC literate and conversant with commonly used industry software including the usual Microsoft software, particularly Word and Excel.
