Stroma and IES announce exclusive alliance to offer complete non-dwelling EPC solution
Stroma Accreditation and Integrated Environmental Solutions (IES) have joined forces to offer a complete one-stop-shop solution for those wishing to become accredited Building Energy Assessors to levels 3, 4 or 5. This partnership offers an easy route to qualifications and accreditation needed in order to produce and lodge Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in England and Wales.
IES is providing access to its comprehensive <VE compliance> software training and support capabilities. <VE Compliance> is market-leading CLG accredited software that has the capability to create EPCs for non-dwellings in England and Wales, regardless of size or complexity, with either the SBEM (Simplified Building Energy Model) or DSM (Dynamic Simulation Model) calculation routes.
Stroma offers flexible/ tailored routes to accreditation, including the APEL route which recognises the experience of the assessor, offering a fast track and cost
saving process. For candidates without relevant experience, Stroma offers a route through the National Occupation Standard (NOS) Qualification, which facilitates entry through completion of a Nationally recognised diploma.
So regardless of what level Energy Assessor someone wants to be, Stroma, in conjunction with IES, offers the software tools, qualifications and accreditation package to meet their needs.
Exclusive Level 3 Package
Stroma has an exclusive alliance with IES for the distribution of their new low-cost EPC only software package, the IES <EPC Assessor>, which enables the easy creation of Level 3 EPCs and includes in its price training, competency certification and support. Stroma is supporting the roll out of this software with the launch of a Level 3 Diploma approved to ABBE standards.
This complete solution combines all the required software, training, qualifications and accreditation into one complete package making it an easy, cost and time effective route to becoming a Level 3 Energy Assessor.
The <EPC Assessor> software uses IES’s CLG accredited <VE SBEM> calculation methodology, which is model-based and extremely easy to use. Additionally the new <EPC Assessor> software offers the ability to compare this SBEM calculated EPC against a DSM calculated one.
Matthew Ferguson, Managing Director at Stroma, explains: “The alliance with IES will mean that Stroma are unique in the market in being able to offer a complete Level 3, 4 and 5 assessment programme for non-dwelling EPCs. IES software, combined with our training and support. We now have everything in place to ensure Energy Assessors are able to help their clients to comply with the soon to be mandatory requirements for EPCs on non-dwellings.”
David McEwan, IES’s Director of Building Regulations continues: “We are seeing huge interest from current Domestic Energy Assessors, surveyors and others in becoming Level 3 assessors for non-dwellings. The fact that with Stroma we can provide this complete and technologically advanced solution is a compelling proposition for the marketplace. Particularly given our capability to also provide routes to Level 4 & 5 accreditation.
