Changes to the EPBD (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) specify that from October 1st 2008, all commercial properties require an EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) when sold or rented - unless they were put on the market before this deadline, in which case the deadline is extended to January 1st 2009.
